Today
many Americans are experiencing failure for the first time in their
lives. Whether it is foreclosure, catastrophic hospital bills,
unemployment or the loss of their retirement holdings, many are facing
some kind of challenge.
The young woman’s story leaps out at me as an example: J.K. Rowling. At
a young age she chose to work instead of pursuing her passion, writing.
Nevertheless she found herself very poor and almost homeless in
Britain. She concentrated on the things she did have, things that were
valuable to her. First was a wonderful little daughter, the second an
old typewriter and lastly, she still had the dream of becoming a
writer. These were the building blocks to her book Harry Potter and the
Sorcerer's Stone.
The lesson unfolds like this: armed with the basic guidelines of what
to look for in a purchase, you and your group will go out and seek real
deals. Our designated group entered neighborhoods and started doing
door-to-door cold calls seeking information about that targeted area.
John provided some basic instructions on what to look for when
searching for properties to purchase for less than their worth or
properties that you could add value to. While the class received a
manual, the Schaub philosophy was hands-on and practical.
